Community Fund opens for local organisations who can apply for up to £2,500 for projects

Cumbria’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner David Allen, has opened the PFCC Community Fund for local organisations, charities and community groups. Groups can apply for funding to support projects to help tackle and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Organisations can apply for up to £2,500 for their projects. In 2025, the Commissioner provided £236,044 through the Community Fund and Property Fund to 102 groups including Maryport Boxing Club, Stomping Ground Carlisle, Kendal Youth Darts Academy and Penrith Cricket Club.

Commissioner David Allen said: "Investing in our communities is vital to tackle and prevent anti-social behaviour and crime in our county.

“That’s why I’m so pleased to provide up to £2,500 to local organisations and groups for projects that will reduce crime through education and diversionary activities through my Community Fund.

“This may not seem like a huge amount of money. However, it can make a huge difference to smaller groups who want to make a positive difference in their area. I have seen that first hand.

“I’ve visited multiple groups that received Community Fund over the last year such as Kendal Youth Darts Academy – they used their funding for dart boards, lights and surrounds and scoreboards. Simple pieces of equipment but they have made a huge difference to the young people in Kendal and are incredibly successful.

“I want to help Cumbrian organisations continue to make a difference in their communities which is why I am re-opening the Community Fund. If you have a project, please apply – all the information can be found on my website.”

Community Fund documents can be found on the PFCC website - Community Fund - Cumbria PFCC

All applications must be approved by a local PCSO or Officer.

Applications for the Community Fund will close on Thursday 30 April 2026 at 5pm.
