Car Seized and Driver Arrested on Fell Lane

Police have seized disqualified drug drivers car in Penrith this morning (Friday 7th February) on Fell Lane and arrested the driver.

Eden Neighbourhood Police team said the constabulary's Roads Policing Unit launched in 2023 as a specialist unit of Cumbria Police that focuses on road safety was helping them out today in Penrith.

While on patrol, they stopped a white Seat Leon which was declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), meaning it was illegal to drive on the road.

Police also found that the driver of the vehicle was disqualified and also driving under the influence of drugs resulting in the driver being arrested.

A spokesperson from the Eden Neighbourhood Police team said: “One under arrest and another vehicle seized.”
