Busy Christmas for Fire Crews with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Call-outs

Penrith Fire crew were called out just before lunch time on Christmas Day to support Shap Fire Station responding to a chimney fire at Haweswater Hotel.

The incident was resolved quickly once fire crews arrived and all guests were able to return to their Christmas festivities and enjoy their Christmas lunch.

Fire crews from Appleby and Carlisle also supported fire crews from Penrith fire station responding to a fire on Christmas Eve with a building fire at a Center Parcs lodge.

The Carlisle East turn table ladder was mobilised to provide better safe access to the roof space of the lodge that suffered extensive damage from the fire 

Thermal imaging camera were used and 45mm hose plus Hose reels and breathing apparatus in bring the fire under control.

All occupants of the property were out on arrival of the fire crews. Christmas presents were brought out by the Crew.

Fire crews have issued a reminder about naked flames saying “Please be safe around naked flames and any Fires.”
