Air Ambulance Lands in Penrith Park to Transfer Patient to Waiting Ambulance

The Great North Air Ambulance landed inn Wetheriggs country park this afternoon to transfer a patient to a waiting ambulance for transfer to hospital.

The ambulance and Beep doctor were waiting for the air ambulance at Wetheriggs park as it circled the town before landing just before 2:30pm.

Following the transfer of the patient the ambulance crew departed with blue lights along the A66.

The air ambulance crew then carried out some checks to the the aircraft before taking off heading North over Penrith.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service a charity run service has responded to nine incidents over the weekend in the North East and Cumbria.

The incidents included two cardiac arrests, two road traffic collisions, two self-harm incidents, a fall, a medical incident, and a sports and leisure incident.

One of the incident the air ambulance was called to was on the M6 near Carlisle at 8pm, with reports of a road traffic collision.
