Air Ambulance Called after Van left M6 and ended up in a field South of Penrith

One lane of the M6 Northbound was closed due to accident between J39 at Shap and J40 at Penrith this morning (Monday 17th February) leading to delays.

Emergency services were call to the scene near Clifton just after 9am this morning after  van left the carriageway and ended up in a field.
North West Ambulance Service on scene to assist the driver who has been taken to hospital to be checked over. 

One lane of the M6 was closed for recovery to take place but the road is now open and traffic retuning to normal.
