Additional M6 Closures announced for Clifton Railway Bridge Works from 10pm Tonight

National Highways have announced additional overnight closures of the M6 from tonight between junction 40 Penrith and junction 39 Shap.

Network Rail have requested a number of additional overnight closures of the M6 to enable them to complete preparatory works in advance of the replacement of M6 Clifton Railway Bridge in early January.

The M6 southbound carriageway will be closed overnight tonight, Monday 15th December, 22:00 = 06:00 and the M6 northbound carriageway will be closed overnight tomorrow, Tuesday 16th December, 22:00 - 06:00

Traffic will be diverted via the A6.

National Highway have said “Apologies for the short notice and thank you for your ongoing patience.”
