A686 Closed Following Collision

Cumbria Police are reporting the A686 is closed in both directions following a serious collision this afternoon.

Police have said the road is closed between Tortree Gardens in Melmerby and Park Lane in Alston.

Emergency services received reports of the incident at around 3.20pm on Sunday afternoon.

The Great North Air Ambulance is supporting emergency services in responding to the collision.

The road is expected to remain closed for the next few hours.
