Joiner

£35,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced joiner to join our friendly estate and facilities team. Primarily, the role involves installation and maintenance of existing fire doors and frames, installing kitchens, forming fire rated walls, ceilings and enclosures, general repairs and second fix joinery on both our existing and new properties.

• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a degree of flexibility required.

• Equipment: Van, equipment and workwear provided.

• Annual Leave: You will receive 33 days per annum; our holiday year runs from March to February.

Your role and responsibilities as Maintenance Technician

Working with A Wilderness Way offers the opportunity for you to truly make a difference to children’s lives. Our properties are children’s homes and creating safe comfortable environments is what this role is all about.

We are ideally looking for someone with strong joinery and general maintenance skills. Qualifications for this role are vital, as well as practical experience in a similar role.


Essential qualities that we look for

• Level 3 GNVQ joinery/carpentry/woodworking. The post holder must have completed a recognised apprenticeship, with a City and Guilds (NVQ level 3) or equivalent.

• CSCS card and other trade cards such as PASMA, IPAF desirable.

• Is enthusiastic, tenacious and has a strong attention to detail.

• Comfortable using a variety of tools.

• Can trouble shoot, using one’s initiative.

• Happy to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and get stuck into helping with all aspects of our maintenance teams jobs and able to problem solve.

• Is an enthusiastic team player, but also comfortable working on their own.

• A full, valid, UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
