Cumbria Poloce have confirmed the A66 has reopened following a collision between Kirkby Thore and Crackenthorpe this morning.

The collision that fully closed the A66 for most of the day involved a HGV and a van that was reported to police at 5am.

The driver of the van suffered serious injuries in the collision, the driver of the HGV was not seriously injured.
